Our Story
Creating formulas inspired by the beauty of our surroundings – Made in beautiful British Columbia, Canada.
The Beauty Through Balance spa line created by founder Sherina Jamal, is one that reflects the company’s vision to develop products that go beyond topical care and work on a therapeutic and holistic level. Formulas created pay tribute to age old indigenous healing plant remedies from around the world and a scientific approach is also taken to ensure quality at every stage of R&D and production.
With each application skin and senses will tune to the frequency & vibrations that nature has to offer, allowing one’s own natural beauty to shine through.
The very first formulas developed by Sherina over 12 years ago were created based on her extensive research of local Pacific Seaweed and Canadian Glacial Clay from the Northern Coast of British Columbia, Canada. Due to the profound healing benefits these indigenous ingredients offered, Sherina incorporated them into advanced formulations to create some of the very first authentic Canadian Thalassotherapy (healing from raw ocean elements) spa treatments and home care. Since then she continues to work on researching and incorporating other sustainably harvested healing Canadian ingredients into her sophisticated formulas. Sustainable & Ethical Harvesting
Macrocystis Integrifolia Pacific Kelp Fronds. Hand Harvesting.
We put passion and pride into the sourcing, harvesting and processing of nature’s healing resources from the sea and the earth without negatively impacting the environment. Our collaboration and partnerships with experienced harvesters and use of specialized methods not only provides a pure ingredient for maximum benefits, but ensures that all steps are handled with social and environmental responsibility.
We are proud to bring you products that provide sophisticated skin care solutions and also play a direct role in protecting our precious earth.
Harvesting of our most precious ingredients -
Our Macrocystis Integrifolia Pacific Seaweed (Large brown kelp) is harvested by hand from remote areas of the Northern Coast of BC, Canada and all harvesting is 100% sustainable. Specific rules and policies are followed that protect the kelp beds during harvesting. Both government and aboriginal oversights are strictly enforced and only a small window of harvesting is allowed during the course of the year. This ensures maximum protection of the amazing sea life that live in and around the beds.
Regulated pruning methods allow only 9 feet to be pruned from the top of the plant and this will regenerate and grow back in just a few days making it one of the most sustainable plants in the world.
We offer this unique seaweed in 2 forms; Whole Seaweed Fronds which once harvested, are placed in a specialized cold room to dry. These are re-hydrated and used on the skin for their remarkable healing benefits (used in our spa treatments on the eyes, and areas of the body).
We also utilize the kelp by transforming the harvested kelp tips into a thick pulp that is 100% concentrated using a special patented process. We were the first skin care company in Canada to incorporate this unique form of raw live kelp into sophisticated and therapeutic skin care formulations for spas. First the harvested kelp tips are washed to remove surface layer residues, then without any heat being applied we start the unique cold processing method. Unlike other methods, during this process it is important to note that none of the kelp tip is wasted. The full amount is used and the kelp is not denatured in anyway. Using very specialized equipment, the end result is a thick liquid pulp that retains the full nutritional value of the original kelp in live raw form!
We are proud to be able to partner with such passionate harvesters and are grateful that First Nations and Government entities are involved to create this co-operative, mutually beneficial collaboration.

Research & Development
We are dedicated to science, research and maintaining the highest standards when it comes to product development. This is our priority. The industry is saturated with product lines that make false claims and take short cuts, so we take great pride in developing products made ethically and authentically. Our mandate is to develop products that are safe and offer superior performance.
Through innovative cutting edge methods, we ensure that the integrity and naturally occurring composition of the raw ingredients used in our formulas are not altered in any way through harvesting or processing so that maximum benefits can be seen. Each specific key active ingredient in our products including the Canadian Glacial Clay, Acai Berries, Seaweed, Anti-oxidants, Anti-aging actives etc. have undergone various clinical trials and studies to validate their benefits. All of our formulas are manufactured in a proper licensed and certified facility where strict protocols are followed in the areas of production, quality control and quality assurance. Our manufacturing processes follows guidelines to ensure no negative impact to the environment.
“I’ve used your products for such a long time and I know the care and research you put in to achieve such high quality products, and I do appreciate this very much, as well as the vegetarian and organic ingredients.
